With the Mornington Peninsula being a hot spot for vacations, day trips and team building work retreats, it is easy to forget about the food and drink until it is crunch time and everyone is hungry.
In the lead up to your amazing time away to create the work plan for the next quarter, the last thing you would want to worry about is what you are feeding everyone after the 2nd or 3rd day. What you are cooking for breakfast? or lunch? or dinner? Sometimes catering can be a cheaper, more productive, and tastier alternative to throwing something together or heading out for every meal.
Most caterers through out the peninsula have some form of work retreat package, the key is finding the one that suits you and uses the fresh, local produce you would like to eat. Finding a caterer that fits into your budget can be your main goal but to do that make sure you have an honest understanding of what costs are involved with either catering it yourself or only catering certain meals.
Things to think about for your retreat are:
- Food for Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner (Don't forget someone has to cook and clean)
- Snacks/Fruit/Ice cream...Got to have your treats!
- Coffee/Tea/Hot Chocolate
- Soft Drink/Water/Juice
- Milk - Full Cream/Skim/Soy/Almond
- Dining out - Taxis/Uber to and from/where to go/weather
All of these things will add up and can affect your bottom line as well as you and your teams productivity for the 2-5 days you are away. At the end of the day the goal of the day these retreats are a rare opportunity for you to lock in the plan for your entire company!
